– Facility Facebook Page
POLICY: It is the policy of Grand Haven Nursing Home to utilize a facility Facebook page. The use of this page will be to share information regarding the facility.
PROCEDURE: Two administrators will be assigned to manage and monitor the page. The two administrators will delete anything that may be posted that could be “inappropriate”. The two administrators will monitor the site daily. The two administrators can add information to the Facebook page. The username and password to the account are not shared with other staff. • One username and one password will be setup for the two administrators
The Activity Director and the Administrator will be responsible for the facility page. The page can be used for the following: • Employment advertising • Monthly activity calendar • Special facility events • Resident event involvement • Staff event involvement • Employee of the month • Employee and resident recognition • Community outreach and education All staff will be educated on the facility Facebook page. Resident pictures will be added, if the resident (or responsible party) has signed for social media use. Staff pictures can be added, unless a staff member refuses to have his/her picture on the page. The page will be updated at least monthly to keep the page active.
POLICY: The facility will actively promote the absence of abuse and neglect through the use of education and practice. The facility seeks to prohibit mistreatment, neglect, mental abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, involuntary seclusion, misappropriation of personal property and exploitation for all residents. As a matter of protection for residents, the facility promotes absence of abuse from all individuals.
